Improved communication between mental health and AOD services

Thank you to all who attended the sixth Round Table. Something that came out of the meeting was the need to improve communication between mental health and AOD services. With this in mind, I wanted to introduce the No Wrong Door Initiaitve. The No Wrong Door initiative aims to bring together organisations, like yourselves, to improve coordination and integration so that people recieve the right care for their needs regardless of which 'door' they enter the system from. We currently have 57 organisations which have committed to the No Wrong Door initiative.

In doing so they receive:

  • Free training, including mental health first aid training
  • Access to the online Framework, a set of interactive modules to assist organisations in implementing no wrong door and recovery-oriented practice within their organisation
  • Access to the online Hub, including a 'connect your client' feature to help find services for your clients among the NWD organisations
  • Invitation to attend the No Wrong Door forum

We encourage all Round Table member organisations to join the Initiaitve and complete the Framework. If you would like more information on No Wrong Door, please contact me on Pritika.Desai@swsphn.com.au
