The Antenatal Shared Care Refresher Course provides GPs with an updated overview of collaborative antenatal practice, focusing on woman‑centred care, cultural safety, informed decision‑making, and effective communication pathways as outlined in the National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and Referral, 5th Edition. The session revisits key antenatal indications requiring GP assessment or escalation—such as past obstetric history, chronic medical conditions, screening abnormalities, fetal growth concerns, and scenarios where women decline recommended care—to strengthen confidence in recognising when to discuss, consult, or refer, thereby supporting safe, coordinated maternity care.
