The webinar aims to educate GPs on potential maternal and neonatal outcomes if a woman’s diabetes is not controlled before pregnancy, which medications should be stopped, substituted or introduced before pregnancy, why they should refer patients to a diabetes pre-pregnancy planning clinic and the importance of engaging in conversations with patients about contraceptives.

6.30pm for 7pm start. Expected to conclude at 9pm
This skills session will provide an opportunity for GPs to practice skills under the guidance of expert clinicians in a simulation environment. ANSC GPs will have an opportunity to apply their practical antenatal skills, such as abdominal palpation, utilising a life-like model.
Additionally, ANSC GPs will determine the need for escalation when a deviation from normal in pregnancy is identified. Antenatal scenarios and case studies covered will include topics relating to gestational diabetes, hypertension during pregnancy, per vaginal bleeding during pregnancy, preeclampsia, fetal growth restriction and more.
