CPD opportunity: GPs role in the prevention, screening and management of syphilis and congenital syphilis

Registrations are open for the CPD face to face event: GPs role in the prevention, screening and management of syphilis and congenital syphilis. It is RACGP approved for 1 hour of educational activities and 1 hour of reviewing performance.

Aim

To assess the current epidemiology of syphilis, particularly in females of reproductive age, and GP support pathways in managing syphilis and congenital syphilis. This includes exploring the risks of syphilis in pregnancy, its impact on intrauterine infection, and strategies for antenatal syphilis screening and prevention. Additionally, this session will discuss the appropriate clinical indications for testing, and optimal management of neonates at risk of congenital syphilis.
